Belt Tensioner Pulley & Bearing Manufacturer

Trans Power (TP) manufactures belt tensioners, tensioner pulleys, idler pulleys, and timing belt tensioners for both timing belt systems and serpentine (auxiliary) belt drive systems. Our product portfolio covers passenger cars, light commercial vehicles, and medium- and heavy-duty trucks. Complete pulley assemblies as well as replacement pulley bearings are available for a wide range of applications.

Designed to operate under continuous belt load, high rotational speeds, and elevated engine temperatures, our tensioner products are engineered for reliable performance, smooth operation, and long service life. Precision bearings, durable sealing, and accurate pulley alignment help reduce noise, minimize belt wear, and maintain consistent belt tension throughout the service interval.

Typical MOQ ranges from 50 to 200 pieces per reference. Manufactured in China and Thailand under certified quality management systems, our products are exported to customers in more than 50 countries worldwide.

Timing & Accessory Belt

Both drives from one supplier — timing belt tensioners and deflection pulleys, plus V-ribbed and V-belt tensioners for the accessory drive.

VKM Cross-Reference

Our catalogue is indexed against VKM numbering, which is how most European aftermarket buyers search. INA, Gates and OE numbers cross-referenced too.

Runout Controlled

Pulley concentricity and face runout are held to spec, because a pulley that runs untrue destroys the belt before the bearing wears out.

MOQ from 50 pcs

Per reference. Tensioners are a coverage line — many applications, modest quantities each.

Strong on Lada / CIS

21126-1006238 for Lada Granta and Vesta is one of our fastest movers. If you supply the CIS aftermarket, ask for the full Lada list.

OEM / ODM & Samples

Non-standard designs to your drawing, private-label packaging, and samples for bench testing before bulk.

Tensioner Pulley & Bearing Cross Reference

Cross-reference information is available for many applications and may include OE numbers as well as major aftermarket references such as VKM, INA, and Gates. Simply send us your reference number, and we'll help identify the matching TP product. References are provided for identification purposes only.

Tensioner, Bearing, Idler or Guide Pulley?

From tensioners and idler pulleys to pulley bearings and complete assemblies, TP offers a comprehensive range of belt drive components for passenger cars and commercial vehicles. One supplier, multiple product solutions, helping you simplify sourcing and improve inventory efficiency.

Tensioner Pulley A pulley on a sprung or adjustable arm that keeps the belt at the correct tension as it stretches. The part that actually sets tension.
Tensioner Bearing / Pulley Bearing The bare bearing inside a tensioner or idler assembly — a pulley bearing on its own, without the pulley. Sold separately where the housing and arm are reused, which is common practice in the CIS and Middle East aftermarket.
Idler Pulley A free-running pulley that guides the belt around an obstruction. It does not set tension — it only routes the belt.
Deflection / Guide Pulley Same job as an idler, on the timing belt side. Keeps the belt against the sprockets on long spans.
Timing Belt Kit Tensioner The tensioner supplied inside a timing belt kit, alongside the belt and sometimes the water pump.
V-Ribbed Belt Tensioner For the accessory drive — alternator, A/C compressor, power steering. Different duty cycle from the timing side.

Timing Belt Drive vs Accessory Belt Drive

Timing Belt Drive Accessory / V-Ribbed Drive
What it drives Camshaft(s) from the crankshaft — engine timing depends on it Alternator, A/C compressor, power steering, water pump
Belt type Toothed timing belt V-ribbed (serpentine) or V-belt
Consequence of failure Belt jumps or snaps — often destroys the engine Accessories stop working; car is drivable but not for long
Replacement interval Fixed service interval, usually with the belt and sometimes the water pump Replaced when noisy or when the belt is changed
Parts we make Tensioner pulleys, deflection / guide pulleys, complete kits V-ribbed and V-belt tensioners, idler pulleys

Timing-side parts are the higher-value line because failure is catastrophic and replacement is scheduled — see why timing belt kits are a key aftermarket opportunity in 2026.

Symptoms, and What We Control

A tensioner rarely fails silently — it tells you first, usually by chewing the belt. The two things that decide whether it lasts a belt interval are the grease and how true the pulley runs.

Symptoms of a Failing Tensioner

Squeal or chirp from the belt area Usually the tensioner bearing, not the belt. If it changes with engine speed rather than road speed, it is a belt-drive component.
Rumble or growl that rises with revs Bearing grease has broken down. On the accessory drive it is often mistaken for an alternator bearing.
Belt edge fraying A pulley running out of true, or misalignment. Replacing the belt without the pulley means the new belt frays the same way.
Visible pulley wobble Bearing play. On the timing side this is urgent — a seized or wobbling deflection pulley can throw the belt.
Belt dust or black powder The belt is being abraded by a pulley face that is worn, rough or misaligned.

What We Specify

Grease specificationMatched to under-bonnet temperature. Grease breakdown is the underlying failure mechanism on every tensioner.
Concentricity & face runoutHeld to spec so the belt tracks straight. This is the difference between a tensioner that lasts a belt interval and one that eats belts.
SealingKeeps road spray, dust and any oil mist out of the raceway on an exposed front-of-engine position.
Pulley materialSteel or reinforced polymer to match the OE design — belt contact profile matters as much as strength.
Heat & stress resistanceMaterials and heat treatment specified for continuous running next to the engine.
OE interchangeDimensionally interchangeable with the referenced VKM, INA, Gates-style and OE numbers.
Batch consistencyControlled process capability so the tenth container matches the first.
Samples firstBench-test runout and noise before bulk on any new reference.

Applications

Every belt-driven engine has at least one tensioner, and most have two or three between the timing and accessory drives. Because timing-side parts are replaced on a schedule rather than on failure, this is one of the more predictable lines a distributor can stock.

Belt Tensioner FAQ

What is the difference between a tensioner pulley and an idler pulley?
A tensioner pulley sits on a sprung or adjustable arm and sets the belt tension. An idler pulley is fixed and only routes the belt around an obstruction. On the timing side an idler is usually called a deflection or guide pulley. They look similar and are not interchangeable — check whether the mount has a spring or adjuster before ordering.
Can I buy just the tensioner bearing instead of the whole pulley?
Yes, for the references where the bearing is a serviceable item. This is common practice in the CIS and Middle East aftermarket, where the housing and arm are reused. Tell us whether you want the bare bearing or the complete pulley assembly — quote the OE number either way.
What does a failing belt tensioner sound like?
A squeal, chirp, rumble or growl from the belt area that changes with engine speed rather than road speed. If the noise tracks road speed instead, look at a wheel bearing. On the accessory drive a failing tensioner bearing is often mistaken for an alternator bearing.
Why did my new belt fray after a short time?
Almost always a pulley running out of true, or misalignment. The belt is the symptom, not the cause. Replacing a timing or accessory belt without checking the tensioner and idler pulleys means the new belt fails the same way — which is why belts and tensioners are increasingly sold as kits.
Do you supply complete timing belt kits?
Yes. Kits combine the belt with the tensioner and, on some applications, the deflection pulleys and water pump. Kits are the growing part of this market because they remove the guesswork for the workshop and reduce comeback rates.
Can you match a VKM, INA or Gates number?
Yes. Our catalogue is indexed against VKM numbering with INA, Gates-style and OE cross-references. Send whatever number you have; if you only have the vehicle, give us make, model, year and engine code — engine code matters on this part more than on most.
Do you carry Lada and other CIS applications?
Yes. 21126-1006238 for Lada Granta and Vesta is one of our faster-moving tensioner references. The full Lada and GAZ list is not all published on the site — ask and we will send it.
What is your MOQ for tensioners?
50–200 pcs per reference depending on the part and packaging. Tensioners are a coverage line, so most distributors take many references in modest quantities rather than depth in a few.
